Welcome

It is my great pleasure as the current Chairman of Monks Brook u3a to welcome you to our website. Maybe you have already heard a little about our u3a (or u3as in general) and are wondering if it might be something you would like to be part of. If so this website will help you know more about it and tell you how you can join.

We currently have over 250 members and run over 30 interest groups offering a diverse selection of subjects; French, Canasta, Photography, Art Appreciation, Walking, Mah Jong, are just a few of the topics and activities on offer. Click on "Activities" to see the full list.

Member volunteers act as Group Coordinators to organise the groups and all members attending groups are encouraged to participate fully in the activities. If a group reaches capacity or a new idea for a group is suggested, we aim to support the development of new and additional groups to keep up with the demand.

We have a Monthly General Meeting on the first Wednesday of each month at 2pm in St Boniface Hall, Hursley Road, Chandlers Ford, SO53 2FT where we are able to meet each other, exchange news and listen to a visiting speaker. The menu of topics for these talks is wide ranging and varied, aiming to have broad appeal. Afterwards, enjoy free refreshments with the opportunity to chat and book activities. The current year’s talks can be found in "Monthly Meetings" under the "Activities" menu.

Both our Questers and Green Fingers Garden Groups are open to everyone in our membership and arrange trips such as to stately homes, behind the scenes at local businesses, coach trips, visits to historical, scientific and industrial sites and gardens of interest. Information on currently proposed excursions is available by selecting "Outings" on the "Activities" menu. JOIN US! Print and send an Application Form or come to a Monthly Meeting.  Details below.

We look forward to welcoming you to Monks Brook u3a.
